It is with great pleasure that we are welcoming you to our December 2021 edition of the Henry Watts Real Estate and Lifestyle Magazine. We hope that you had a meaningful Thanksgiving.
If you’ve been following the news recently, cryptocurrencies are at the center of all the financial conversations. The diverse uses and the revolutionary nature of cryptocurrencies inspired Larry B. Seabrook in the writing of his fifth article. Larry’s fifth article of his series about reparations for people of African descent suggests that reparations should be paid using cryptocurrencies. A truly inspiring read. Larry B. Seabrook has been an amazing author to work with and has always provided relevant and insightful information. We encourage you to read the previous installment of his series if you missed them.
Similarly, Mark Salzwedel has been incredible with his depiction of the LGBTQ history. In his article, Mark raises our awareness regarding legal battles fought by the community, along with healthcare discriminations and persecutions. He also details how to this day, many members of the community continue to live in hiding due to poor legislations in the United States and other countries around the world. Mark’s fourth and final article is as accurate and concise as ever and we strongly recommend that you read his other articles found in our previous magazine installments.
Also, we’re excited to present an article from Gregory Anderson, CEO and President of Bridge Street Development Corporation. Gregory discusses the key role tax liens play in our communities and why he believes this year’s New York City tax lien’s sale should be cancelled. Using data, Gregory demonstrates how tax liens have disproportionate negative effects on black and brown communities. Bridge Street Development Corporation’s work is remarkable, and we suggest that you visit their website to learn more about them.
This edition of the Henry Watts Real Estate and Lifestyle magazine also includes articles that discuss tips on how to avoid paying too much when purchasing your new home, how to properly set up your emergency fund, and best practices if you get unsolicited offers for your home. These articles can be found in the first segment of our magazine. Moreover, in the last segment, we are once again delighted to receive a poem from the talented Cheryl Foster. This edition’s poem challenges the status quo in a smart and subtle way while encouraging us to fight for what is rightfully ours.

The past couple of years have been challenging for all of us, to say the least. But even during these historic moments, you continued to support us, and you trusted us with the sale and purchase of your properties and for that, we are truly thankful. May this upcoming year bring you joy, comfort, and fulfillment. We wish you a meaningful and joyful holiday season!
