Where have all the Play Places gone?
Remember those large play structure appendages stuck to the sides of McDonalds, Wendy’s, and other fast food restaurants? Remember the blue, red and yellow tubes and slides, noisy with shoeless kids? Buyers turn to new construction as the
‘existing home’ market dries up
With some communities seeing incredibly low numbers of existing homes for sale, buyers are turning to new housing developments that they might not have considered before. Pickleball… Nice or Nuisance?
The constant pok-pok-pok noise of a ball hitting a hard paddle might be satisfying to players, but it can be as annoying as a clicking pen to others. What others? Anyone who lives within the sound of a game who doesn’t play. Between the laughter and hoots of boisterous spectators, to that pok-pok rhythm, the sounds of pickleball have led to complaints that may limit play in the future. If you’re making a real estate purchase decision, consider the pickleball court. If you’re buying because you like it, know that it might not stick around. And if you don’t like it, consider buying a unit further away from the court.
