Elizabeth (Liz) Berney is an attorney and the National Director of Research and Special Projects for the Zionist Organization of America (“ZOA”), the oldest pro-Israel organization in the United States. Ms. Berney assists ZOA’s defense of Israel and the Jewish people in legal, legislative, media and other fora.
Her work includes authoring or co-authoring articles, op-eds, press releases, educational materials and amicus (“friend of the court”) briefs; testifying before public bodies; representing ZOA on radio, television, speeches, panels, college educational programs and debates; and hosting ZOA’s online book club. She also serves on the Board of Ariel University in Samaria, Israel, and represents ZOA at the World Zionist Congress; Zionist General Counsel; Keren Kayemet L’Israel; Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; American Zionist Movement; European Conference on Countering Antisemitism; and the Nassau County (NY) Special Legislative Task Force on Combating Antisemitism.
Ms. Berney is a graduate of Cornell University and the University of Chicago Law School.
